Mount Batur Bali is an active volcano that is concealed inside a larger, older volcano. With a summit point of 5,633 feet high, Mount Batur is the ultimate place to trek on an adventurous hike. During your day tip to Mount Batur, we will show you around a few more magical places, which you didn’t even know of existed in Bali.
Tegalalang Rice Terraces
These stunning and peaceful rice terraces are located in Ubud and famously known for its rice paddies and subak (traditional Balinese irrigation system). Subak is the water management system for rice fields on Bali island,
According to history, the subak was passed down by Rsi Markandeya, a highly-cherished holy man popular in the 8th century.
As Tegalalang forms one of the most splendid landscapes in Ubud, the rustic villages in Ubud of Pejeng and Campuhan have a share in this as well. As the Tegalalang Rice Terraces are positioned in the high roadsides of Ubud, the temperature remains cool and breezy. This is what you want on a probably hot day out in Bali.
Aside from tourists falling in love with this destination, painters, artists, and conservationists also adore visiting this hotspot with the close cafes and kiosks within close walking distance.
When partaking in any sort of hike, it is vitally important to pack the necessities ensuring your mountain trek is as comfortable and seamless as possible. Only bring what you absolutely need, and leave the rest in your hotel.
A few things to remember to pack when climbing Mount Batur Bali
- Comfortable hiking shoes (preferably ones that you have previously worn so you can eliminate the initial ‘breaking in the shoes’)
- Long pants to protect your legs from unforeseen, prickly bushes (jeans are not recommended)
- A warm jacket as the temperature at the volcano summit is between 8-15° Celsius
